About Us

The Calcasieu Area Council is comprised of 6 Parishes (Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and Vernon).

Mission

The mission of the Calcasieu Area Council is to help strengthen our community and families through Scouting by:

  • Serving over 1,000 families in SWLA this past year. 
  • We are in the process of adding 5+ scouting programs this year. 
  • Camp Edgewood, the only remaining youth camp in all of SWLA, has been serving the families and youth for over 70 years. 

Scouting continues the 115+ year tradition of being the leadership factories in the communities we serve. Come join the family and help change someone’s stars… who knows, it could be yours!

More than 130 million Americans have been through our programs since our founding, and currently more than 1 million youth are served by 477,000 dedicated adult volunteers in local councils throughout the country.
