About Us
The Calcasieu Area Council is comprised of 5 Parishes (Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and Vernon).
Mission
The mission of the Calcasieu Area Council is to help strengthen our community and families through Scouting.
In the past 2 years:
- Over 65 churches, schools, service clubs partnered with us to deliver Scouting.
- Ranked #1 in the Nation in percent of membership growth at 12.8% in 2015.
- Scouts completed more than 40,000 hours of community service in 2016.
- Almost 1,000 families joined Scouting in 2016.
- Camp Edgewood had over 14,000 visitors enjoy the beauty of camp and our fantastic camping programs.
- Launched 12 new Scouting programs as part of our Council’s commitment to ensuring all families in SWLA have access to a Boy Scout group.
To reach more young people with a life changing Scouting program, we need your support. With your support, we can expand current Scouting programs and develop new programs to better serve our community.

More than 130 million Americans have been through our programs since our founding, and currently more than 1 million youth are served by 477,000 dedicated adult volunteers in local councils throughout the country.
