Swamp Derby (Camp-O-Ree)

From April 10-12, 2026, get ready for an exciting Scouting Adventure at Camp Edgewood!

This is a Calcasieu and Istrouma ADVENTURE PASS event for Scouts BSA youth. Registrations through March 20 have no fees for Scouts BSA youth; $10 per Scout Leader.  Starting on March 21, a late registration fee ($10 per Scout, $20 per Adult) is charged.

Registration: All registrations are done online at the Unit level (meaning no individual registrations.)  Registration ends on April 3.  If you have any issues with registration, like paying too much, not paying enough, can't log in, etc., please send a request to Request Login Assistance.

2026 Swamp Derby: Survivor Leader’s Guide The guide outlines requirements and expectations for units participating in the Swamp Derby at Camp Edgewood. The event emphasizes patrol-based teamwork, Scout skills, leadership, and spirit through eleven competitive stations such as first aid, orienteering, pioneering, fire building, and campsite cleanliness. The guide details registration procedures, fees, required paperwork, adult leadership and safety requirements, preparation recommendations, codes of conduct, campsite rules, scoring methods, and the full weekend schedule. It also clarifies expectations for patrol composition, equipment, behavior, and adult roles, ensuring the event remains youth-led while maintaining safety, fairness, and adherence to Scouting values throughout the weekend.
