Camp Edgewood Service Day
Date/Time:
Location:
3419 Camp Edgewood Road
DeQuincy, LA 70663
A Scout is Helpful — and we sure could use your help!
We are hosting a Camp Edgewood Cleanup Morning, and we need volunteers to help get camp ready for upcoming events.
This is your camp — come help with maintenance and cleanup!
Typical projects may include:
• Preparing camp for upcoming events
• Pressure washing bathrooms
• Repairing structures
• Trail clearing
• Landscaping
Camp service days, often called Beaver Days, are a long-standing scouting tradition where Scouts, units, and families work together to care for council camp properties.
These days help prepare camp for the season and give everyone a chance to give back.
Benefits of volunteering:
• Earn service hours for rank advancement, school, or other requirements
• Help improve Camp Edgewood for all who use it
• Live out the Scout principle of doing a good turn daily
What to bring:
• Work gloves
• Water bottle
• General-purpose tools (if you have them)
• Sunscreen / hat
• Comfortable clothes
• Closed-toe shoes
Important: Volunteers should have a current Annual Health and Medical Record (Parts A & B).
Tentative Schedule:
9:00 AM – Work on projects. Stacy Eastwood (337-532-8272) will be on-site if you have questions.
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Work on projects
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Lunch on your own
1:00 PM – Resume work. Jesse Cogdill (337-842-2427) will be on-site if you have questions.
You are welcome to stay as long or as little as your schedule allows—any help is greatly appreciated!
Let’s roll up our sleeves and make a difference together. We look forward to seeing you there!
