101 Hours Day of Giving

What is a Day of Giving?

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn to excel and to enjoy their childhood, but money can be an obstacle.  In your community, imagine a Scout who cannot attend summer camp because their parents are unable to afford it.  The Calcasieu Area Council believes in the power of providing youth with a Scouting experience, and because of that, we are having a Day of Giving for our 101th Birthday!

When is our 101 Hours Day of Giving Event?

From September 2nd to September 7th, covering 101 hours, we will celebrate our 101th birthday of the Council.  Our kickoff on September 2nd will be capped off with our Council Auction and will include a special Scout Saturday with the McNeese Cowboys September 4th!  The event will end September 7th at midnight.

What is our goal for our 101 Hours Day of Giving?

Our Day of Giving Goal is $101,000 in 101 hours.  We can only get there with your help!

How can I participate?

We hope that you will support our Day of Giving and make a donation.  We also are seeking Ambassadors for the Day of Giving to help us reach as many possible donors as possible.  Sharing our social media posts, email, texting, and calling at least 10 people is our minimum requirement for our Ambassadors.  Who would you contact?  Former Scouts, Scout leaders, friends of Scouting, Scout supporters, co-workers, family members, and friends and ask them to donate a minimum of $101 to help kick off our next 100 years of success here in the Calcasieu Area Council.  Are you interested in becomming an Ambassador?  Click here to register!

Is there a recongnition program?

Everyone that donates at least $101 will receive a special patch in honor of their donation.  Please make sure you complete the shipping address information during the payment process so we have a proper mailing address for your patch.  See the patch below!

Can we donate now?

Yes!!!  While we will focus our giving to our special 101 hours, we want to make this as easy as possible for all of our donors.  Please feel free to donate any time leading up to our event and watch for daily updates on social media as we move through the weekend.

Thank you for supporting the Calcasieu Area Council as we move into our next 100 years of serving our youth!
